I didn't like Paulson, or the way he gave the investment bankers and AIG hundreds of billions of dollars with no strings. At least Geithner put some strings on the deals. Not enough, but some.

But, Paulson deserves some credit for recognizing the extent of the problem, as does Bush. But then, they both deserve some scorn too, as the whole meltdown happened on their watch, with their lack of oversight and regulation.

Look at how wingnuts are still arguing about the Great Depression and how FDR CAUSED it! Fortunately Bernanke wasn't one of them.
I'm sure from now until the end of time they'll be arguing that we were in no danger of another depression. But, I was THERE, and I'm pretty sure we WERE.
