If it were done RIGHT, it should actually HELP the budget.

I pay for insurance every month through a private insurance company. THAT company makes enough PROFIT to pay very nice salaries to it's executives and also have enough profit left over to keep its stock doing well.

About 20 cents of every dollar I pay to my insurance company (on average for all enrollees with that company) goes to salaries and PROFIT. That includes all the Millions that company has to pay for advertising, public relations, etc.

If the Government was offering that insurance they could be 20% LESS efficient and I'd STILL breakeven on my healthcare.

I might even get a break because they would have a LOT more leverage on prices than my current insurance company.

Your WHOLE argument is based on government inefficiency. It's kinda like saying I want to buy my stuff at my local store instead of buying my stuff at the new Walmart that is moving into town even though Walmart will sell me stuff (because of buying power and leverage) 20% cheaper.

If you don't want the government running healthcare for everybody then you WANT to get RID of Medicare because that's government insurance also.

Do you want to get RID of Medicare???
