Politics for some is a religion as is a belief in global warming without an understanding of the science behind it. The high priests of science, the lab coat clerics are no different than a Holy Council of the Catholic Church. As far as logic not being well refined nothing today exists that was advanced as the Greeks 2500 years ago.
