On page 42 the question is posed:

Imagine that you develop a life-threatening illness and couldn't speak for yourself. The doctors feel there is a good chance you would recover to your current health, but you might need one or more of the following treatments.

The boxes below that can be checked include "antibiotics." Why would anyone check the box that says:

I would rather die naturally and not have this treatment?

BTW the site ssays this booklet is being revised. Apparently the document has been moved around on the VA site and I don't know if the current version is the same one Towey talked about.

Robert A Pearlman was the primary author and he is an advocate of Physician Assisted Suicide and looks favorably on euthanasia.
