Those rumors are quite old -- say 2 or more years. I believe that during the Patent Infringement suit, the rumor was that Sprint would acquire -- Sprint is up to their eyeballs in other problems.

I believe that DT's T-Mobile acquired a Skype-like company a while back (maybe 2 or so years ago).

The only companies that I see acquiring Vonage would be iBasis or IDT, but both have their own issues they are dealing with.
