You're welcome.

The last few days it was pretty obvious that the small guy without acces to the neccesary tools was a sitting duck.
However as any honest broker will admit even during regular trading days the little guy often gets an execution an eight or a sixteenth higher then the best price availabe.

Most brokers just sell at market instead of checking ISLAND, INSTINET , or SELECTNET to see if a better price was available.
Then again they probably don't have the time to check all the systems and ECNS they just send the order to the trading room.
There you get filled by the Market Maker division of the brokerage, .
Those traders are trying to make money and if that does not coincide with your best interest tough luck.
If the brokerage is not a Market Maker they probably send it for execution to a place where they are getting a compensation for the order flow.

So although not always as obvious as yesterday it is safe to say that the small investor does not alays get the best deal.

Wit a soes shop/daytrading firm or an execution firm that doesn't happen, you can see your orders getting filled the moment it is done.

SOES is not necesarely a different trading style like some people believe, it is just a much better execution tool and I hope that acces to the small investor will come sooner then later.
