<>< Good morning Kent, on reasoning.
"Come now and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18
Kent you've got me all wrong. My beliefs are not rooted in what I have been told, my beliefs are rooted in my experiences. A reasonable person carefully analyses all stimuli The process of internalization (in the reasonable person) begins with receiving that stimulus which is most congeuent with truth.
It is because of my reasoning abilities, given to me by God, and developed over many many years, that I do believe.
You see Kent the beauty of the word of God is that when one begins to internalize it, it comes alive. It doesn't matter who the person is. The word of God, and the truths therein are not dependent upon the reader's ability to process information, even children with little or no experiences at all, come to believe, because it is alive. And woe to him that attempts to disuade one of these little ones. "But whoso shall offend on of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." Matt.18:6
Look at the fruit of Jesus Kent, He is the one we look to for example. "O taste and see that the LORD is good:blessed is the man that trusteth in Him." Ps.34:8
Christianity lives because its leader lives, Jesus the Christ. Jesus and the fact that He is alive is what sets Christianity apart from "religion".
No my good friend I am afraid that you do not know me or my experiences, which are far to sacred to boast of, but I am more afraid that you do not know the Greatest Man that ever walked this earth my Lord Jesus...... Not knowing me makes no difference, for I am nobody.
On faith: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6
Reasonable minds can differ, but the reasonable man has no quarrel with God.
"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Cor.4:4-5
Kent, you seem to be a good man. Harden not your heart against the one who truly loves you, the only one in this universe that you can truly count on, the only one who will never let you down. The only one who will never leave or forsake you, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. God in the flesh!
