This morning I listened to Glenn Beck since I had some cooking to do for guests tonight. THought I would see what he was saying.

Dale, it was terrible. At least the first hour was before I couldn't listen to him any longer, just because of his style. He and his sidekick have a really ugly way of laughing like hyenas at things I found incredibly jejune.

In fact, my using the word "jejune" would have had them in hysterics, since it seems anyone who speaks well gets derided. They were cracking up at someone who used the words "morose" and "pathos". They sounded like ignorant frat boys.

The first half hour was mostly self-congratulatory, and included the news that Palin had written him an email saying WOW! and congratulating him on his programs this week. And he wrote back to her saying, Wait til tonight! Wow! We were told to tune in tonight because he is going to tell everyone exactly how to take back our country. I suppose he is clever. He is separating "normal" DEmocrats from the extremes, who just happen to be the fascist, socialist people in the WH.

Then they spent more hyena time on Teddy Kennedy.

The treatment of Teddy Kennedy by the right has been crass. When a man dies, isn't it just common courtesy to remain silent? Let those who admire him and loved him have their grief and their time. Why is it necessary to continually shout how you just can't forgive and forget Chappaquiddick and what a slimeball he was? You don't have to forget. But you don't have to scream about it for a couple of days. We have no class any more.

Everything is boiled down without nuance or complexity. It's very black-white, very right-wrong. (guess who's right)
I am filled with sadness and concern this morning.
