So the PDUFA date for PDX in PTCL is 9/24/2009. Yet the OI in Allos options is VERY heavily weighted in September, with high IV, natch. Options expiration is on the 18th. The next heaviest OI month IS October, but it's pretty far behind. So wondering if a) the options players can't add and subtract; b) they are anticipating a run in September and plan on bailing well before the PDUFA date; c) betting the FDA will render its decision at least a week early. a) is highly unlikely. b) is very possible, and c) is somewhat unlikely if FDA history is any guide: if anything they'll be late.

So I'm very tempted to sell this volatility via selling puts. Maybe even a straddle over the $7.50 strike, since that is where the stock is now.

Ah. Got it. ODAC meeting 9/2/2009. Might try buying a bull spread.

I'd guess the briefing docs would be out Tuesday the 1st.

Cheers, Tuck
