Well that is a beautiful thought...but who would clean my toilet and make my bed in the motel room? And who would dig ditches and who would flip my hamburgers and put cream cheese on my bagel?

That is funny...I just remembered a situation in "Atlas shrugged" where the world's greatest philosopher "retired" and was running a hamburger joint--but they were the BEST DAMN HAMBURGERS ON EARTH! (my words--not a quote) ;-)<<

People with college degrees. And they can do any of those things better than people without college degrees.

I think it is impossible for a society to put more money into education than they will get out of it by having a highly educated populace.

The Japanese and Jews have proven that one. And in Denmark and Sweden everyone can get a PHD free.

They are also very happy people are very strong welfare states and both countries are doing better than we in almost every respect.
