Just got back from spending a week in Victoria BC. Nice place this time of year. The weather was beautiful.

Certainly a tourist town with government beating tourism as it's chief economic driver. Folks were saying that things have been slow this year with fewer visitors. Ferry rides between Seattle, Victoria and Anacortes were around 1/2 empty.

We managed a 30% discount when staying more then 3 days. Nice deal on a suite overlooking Victoria harbor.

It was still hard to get used to paying nearly double for everything. Even food at the grocery stores made the wife shake. Much better prices back down in Seattle.

Funny, 'Government as primary economic driver' and that is a quote. How does that work if fewer and fewer people work for industry? People who serve people who server people who make nothing but service!

Sleeman Honey Brown is sure good stuff.
