I reviewed the film carefully.

1) The Metrolink train (RED Train) failed to stop at the red Signal at Checkpoint Topanga. Very serious violation of the law. Earlier during the trip the Metrolink engineer was warned to be prepared to stop at the 2nd signal, or CP Topanga, and acknowledged the warning. Subsequently, the engineer forgot this warning.

2) After failing to stop at CP Topanga, The Metrolink train failed to slow approaching the blind curve north of CP Topanga.

3) The Union Pacific engineer saw the Metrolink train too late to slow, although the Union Pacific engineer applied the emergency brake 2 seconds before impact. The video said the trains saw each other for just 5 seconds before impact.

4) The Metrolink train caused the accident due to running the red signal at Topanga.

5) The Metrolink engineer is concerned with the North Camarillo Station stop over 40 miles away, not the upcoming curve, as evidenced by the text messages sent and received by this engineer.

6) Minutes before the collision Both train engineers are LOOKING at text messages when they should be paying attention to the track with all their senses. Why are they texting each other, what happened to radio communication, with radios the engineers can keep their eyes on the track.

7) This video should be required study for all train engineers, light rail engineers, bus drivers, and truck drivers (or anyone with a commercial drivers license) that are required to heed train signals according to Dept of Transportation rules.

8) VERY TRAGIC ACCIDENT, 25 people lost their lives.
