It's just incredible these fires. First your sister's house burns down in Tahoe, then Aunt Katie's neighborhood burns down - only her house is saved in the Slide fire, your cabin in Arrowhead comes close in another fire that burns around it and now Aunt Mary's. Those pictures hardly show the enormity of this latest fire in the San Gabriel Mountains. Those mountains are 60-80 miles away and look very close. There were a couple hundred people on the airport overlook taking pictures of the smoke clouds. Here's some pix from the slide fire. There's a guy sitting in what used to be his living room next door to Katie's. Sunlight coming through after the fire: Somebody's kitchen. What is so amazing is one house will burn down and the one next door is ok
