I have long since stopped trying to see the logic of Wavoids, especially from the point of view of the 3 Stooges who moderate the Taliboard.
Snackman (a/k/a Der Quackler)--is just an ignorant and none too bright guy who may or may not be in the employ of Wave. He has moderated at least 5 boards on Wave and every one of them has featured blatant censorship. His usual M.O. is thuggery.
His losses must be in the millions, but still he cheerleads, blissfully wiping the many eggs from his face as if they were never there. "June is ours!"
Weby--an educated, but slightly addled old guy from academia, who has a penchant for coming up with metaphors that somehow explained to the Wavoid mind why none of their dreams ever came true ("turtles to the sea, things take time, hockey stick-shaped take-off for Wave when it hits," etc.)
Weby, when I first knew him, was a sweet and tolerant guy. Yet when he volunteered to don the brown shirt and jackboots of the censor, he mutated quickly into something harsh and uncompromising.
Weby still goes back and forth in his mind and on the board. His posts are never censored or deleted, even when he posts messages of mild criticism, or says he has waited long enough. Of course, he will wait longer. He is a Wavoid of infinite patience.
My guess is Weby will die before his dream is realized--that's the nature of Wave. 22 years and counting--not a single quarter of profit. But the hope endures.
FullMoon--the mystery gal. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, yet she has the capacity for unbridled rage and revenge.
She is unfailingly loyal to Wavoid dogma, even through its many twists and turns, dead ends and endless waiting. She never seems to get how illogical the tenets of Wavoidism are. She has a genius for the irrelevant, posting DD and dots that connect with nothing, but are cheered nevertheless by the Wavoid Chorus as being deep and meaningful.
I have yet to read a single post by FullMoon I thought showed intelligence, insight or some fundamental grasp of the real world. I see her as some zombie-void following the orders of the other two Stooges.
Collectively, these three stooges have managed to alienate some of the best and brightest and to hasten their transition into critics.
The latest victim is GoKite (Surfsup) with whom I have differed considerably over the years. Nonetheless, he has been long and loyal until recently when he has posed some legitimate questions--which is like wolfbane to the rabid Wavoids. Can not be tolerated.
How long before the Taliboard loses what little vibrancy it has left?
