Seems to make sense to me... OTOH there are always things that "make sense" that justify many positions on these things. For example the conditions on the planet were much different back then. Or, "well, if God creates life and did so many times in the past (which would have to be the case if you don't believe in Evolution) why isn't God creating life now and we should be able to see it?" Or even: life IS spontaneously arising (generating).. it's called birth. This would especially be true if one believes in ones own divinity... spirit, whatever... because if one does, then ONE IS "spontaneously" arising at birth... the biology is simply the details.

The term "spontaneous generation" could have endless meanings... for science it's usually that flies arose from nothing, which was debunked when they found eggs, etc. Or one could say evolution IS spontaneous generation unfolding, as I've said before. It's all a matter of what meaning one attaches to those words.
