Health care overhaul's quandary: Costs vs. fairness

Imho, that is NOT the real quandary. The real issue is very simple - would we rather have big government we have now, vs. having huge government, for this is exactly what centralized healthcare implies.

One thing that puzzles me about the Left is - How can they be so sure that in 2 - or in 10 - years we will not get another government, which they will detest more than they did Bush..... and who will be messing with the healthcare system in ways they (the Left) will not like.... and the system will be there, already in place, ready and available to be messed with.

The point is, if you hand over more power to politicians, they will never relinquish it.... they will run with it... and you'll no longer have any control over how it may be used in the future.

I guesstimate that tort reform plus (even a moderate degree of) DEREGULATION may save enough money to pay for taking care of all the uninsureds in the nation.
