E*Trade
I can't believe their President actually claimed E*Trade had no problems.
Bullpucky.
The day of the crash, I tried to get onto E*Trade, to find out what the hell had happened to my portfolio. All I got was bogus claims that my login/password combo was bad. My partner got the same thing.
I got on later that night.
The next day, again, the same B.S. And, again, my partner confirmed he couldn't get on all day.
Kind of hard to capitalize on market opportunities when you can't make a bleeping transaction!
LAME LAME LAME - even lamer that their President out and out lied about it.
Furthermore, I've been harassing them for nearly two weeks to transfer about $2,000 that I accidentally deposited in my retirement account, instead of my open account.
LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME LAME
I'm planning to take my business elsewhere.
The President, if he's wise, will issue a public retraction, mea culpa, apology and acknowledgement, and will personally apologize to each and every one of his customers for this horrid customer service failure.
I run an on-line service (although we do it on a smaller scale with far less resources), I know how this works, I'm responsible for keeping systems running. When we have problems, we acknowledge them, and communicate with our customers about them (maybe not always in the most effective way possible, but we try).
I'm far more pissed that the President lied through his teeth, than that I couldn't get on... hell, my portfolio regained 66% of what it lost by this afternoon. And I didn't have much cash to play with anyway.
