The brink of a depression worse than the 1930's is "fiction"???

WHAT do you think would have happened if ALL the banks had gone under???

We're not out of the woods YET, by ANY means. We still have all those "ARMs" to re-adjust and all that lousy commercial paper coming on line.

You seem to think this was just a BLIP in the normal course of capitalism. It WASN'T and still ISN'T.

It's NOT simplistic because the CAUSE of this mess WAS simplistic.

Everybody wanted to make the biggest profit possible so they handed out money like it was in endless supply and they didn't have to worry about it after they handed it out.

EVERY loan they did made them big bucks and they didn't have to worry about the consequences so they DIDN'T.

AND, as it turns out, most of those guys will be right. Anthony Mozilla made a few hundred million and he'll probably be able to keep a LOT of it even if they take him to court. The guys that DID this are coming out smelling like roses.
