The coming rain should make short work of that fire. Why don't you create a blog for your neighborhood yourself? It's easy and fun. You could put up flyers in your local QFC letting folks know there is a little blog going posting stuff about the community. It could grow or stay small depending on who reads and comments, and how much time people want to spend there. It does take a bit of time to set up but the instructions in the "help" menus are easy.
