Hi Victor,

Here is a little more info that might help if you want to persue a buy and hold strategy. Kaplan did some analysis and back tested previous years. What he found that if you take the 5 or 6 best performers from the last year and design your portfolio equally between them for the next 12 months that the average was around 30% These funds from 1996 were FSELX, FSESX, FSBLX, FSRBX ,and FSVLX. You also could add FSGNX but I threw it out

. The return so far this year for these funds is, as of today is 30% from Jan 1, 1997.

Bernie calld this a simpleton portfolio but it seems more like a home run, based on the returns so far this year. You could use the same strategy on 1/1/98.
