We arrived at the route by consensus. Down through rural E. Oregon - Heppner, Spray, Mitchell, Prineville (home to Les Schwab headquarters), then down 97 to Crater Lake, down to Grants Pass, over 199 to Crescent City, then on 101 down and back up the coast with minor detours.

I brought a stove and had a cup of tea or coffee every morning. We went to restaurants and cafes for eating.
