In fact it is considered a "truism" in the scientific community because the can duplicate it in the lab and do so every day. They can even measure the mutation and thus figure out how distant one animal is from another incuding your gentic heritage and mine. To you evolution does not seem as established a fact as the world being orund, but that is because you do not understand evoultion. You just think you do. It is very easy to establish the fact most scientists are not Republcians. That is statistics 101 for gods sake!!
