could you tell us all, why it is, mike shedlock can promote his commercial web site with total freedom on SI, but no one else can do the same?

if there is some variance in the TOS/TOU rules that allow it, I have quite a number of commercial ventures I'd like to promote to the SI readership/membership myself.

Please advise on this issue.
