ALL the "newagy" stuff does resembles Eastern religions because they cut right to the chase. They aren't against Christianity at all... they see the parallels without the dogma. The basis of all that stuff is clearing the mind, meditation, etc. Of course Christianity has the same traditions in bygone eras... some left esp. in the Catholic if you get through all the 'rules and regulations'.
