Fascinating story, and especially that this happened at the frigging Crossroads, of all places ... Clapton's been obsessed with that place forever, for some reason. <g> youtube.com It rather surprises me that they never got burnt out/lynched for defying whites back then, but like the writer said, 'I pause and tell Davis and Chamoun that stories like theirs aren't celebrated enough in Mississippi, that "all we hear about is bad sh--" coming from these parts'.
