I see you are in Irvine. My son in law got his PHD in atmospheric chemistry at UC Irvine about 8/10 years ago. He studies global warming at a northwestern university.

I guess you saw my post that the volume of older crucial sea ice in the arctic shrunk by 57% from 2004 to 2008. This ice will not be replaced and is a very dangerous sign.

That is so huge as to be almost unbelievable.

The arctic from 1999 to 2008 is now the warmest it has been in 2,000 years.

And the sea ice is melting from both above and below. The general warming of the planet is melting the ice from above and the warmer water from below. The water was 10 degrees above normal in some places this year and Eskimo kids were swimming in the arctic ocean.
