Interesting article. Like the newspaper industry, publishing is having a difficult time figuring out which way to go.

Kindle is getting competition and there's a whole generation now that prefers to read a book that way. Bad news for printers, authors and brick and mortar bookstores.

Authors are now choosing to be their own agents and self-publishers. They make their own deals with the audio books folks, sell books through their own websites, do their own PR, arrange their own appearances and are becoming successful at it. Anyone can sell a book through Amazon now.

I find reading a book on a computer or Kindle more difficult, but can understand its uses. I heard that services like Wiki and the NYT are going to be available on Kindle (may already have happened). Books on iPods is something I'd do if I did a lot of traveling.
