You are getting the general idea.

Socialism will not even preserve raspberry jam if an ice age hits and we all fall in the LeBrea Tar Pits.

Nature is a conservative. She does not feed the poor. She makes the food available for the poor to feed themselves, if they work at it. She is more cruel than any right wing tyrant. More cruel than a left wing government come for your spare television set, or telling you to take in illegal immigrant borders in its new amnesty program for visible minority terrorists.

Nature kills the stupid and inefficient. She gets her goon animals to rend babies of their entrails and tear them limb from limb while they scream in terror. She dashes foetuses on the ground in front of marauding insatiable herds of carnivores. She erupts hot ash and mudslides on those unwise enough to live beside volcanoes. She freezes old people in their cottages when their limbs are too frail to cut wood, or they fall asleep when they should tend the stove at night. She takes good families and noble people and renders them sterile. She lets filthy rank ormodons and predators prey upon the civilized and demure.

Nature is a queen bitch. She is your commander. If you do not follow her rules she expunges you with extreme prejudice. By contrast your friendly conservative representative merely reminds those who do not wish to organize together to smooth out nature's extremities, they will soon suffer slings and arrows aplenty.

Your liberal commander tells you that he has enacted laws that defeat nature with forecasts of eternal plenty if you will recognize his moral supremacy as a kind and wise purveyor of plenty from the grannaries those who have gathered unto themselves an excess of the fat of the land. Plunder the better off he will tell you and the not so well off will live in the sunshine forever. Or until he manages to put aside enough for a villa in Switzerland.
