Don't know. Please post if you have info on this.

There's certainly enough subsea volcanic activity around the globe (as I understand it) that it would be possible, but I think most subsea volcanic activity is where the earth's tectonic plates are meeting. My impression is that the poles are not one of the plates meeting areas.
