Snow, while we should blame Big Government on Helen Clark and her fellow travelers, we should be objective and scientific just as we require in The Greenhouse Effect discussions. Pretending doesn't make things real. King George II presided over the biggest Big Government [which should really be in capital letters, bold, with multiple exclamation marks] in human history. Obama is doing the opposite <Obama and Congress are scaring lots of folks with their tendency toward big government >

King George II presided over not just Big Government but Big Brother Big Government. Sure, there were good reasons "to keep you safe" but that's the normal excuse when they want OPM and power over people.

Just the whiff of Obama winning was enough to put the frighteners on the Republican spendthrift big government Bigger Brother mob.

As Obamamania grew and people realized the spendthrifts would be out, the economy went into decline, the tax take was ruined, borrow and hope was abandoned, people started saving money instead of spending it.

From Schwarzeneggerland to the Kennedy compound, the prospects for government spending have gone into decline. Look at Wildan's share price for example as government spending prospects were slashed: finance.yahoo.com

A time of austerity is upon the land as Obamathrift replaces wanton wastrels.

Sure, there was a so-called stimulus package, but that's in those heavily diluted fiat fantasy funds which are not worth the paper they are printed on - not even a Happy Meal for lending a million of them. Sweden even pays people to take the stuff away. Real spending and share of the economy is based on tax. That is wayyy down.

Thank goodness for Obama cutting government down to size and hooray for Obama for reappointing Big Ben, inheritor of the glorious Green$pan legacy.
