Except it didn't. Have you never heard of the "Roosevelt Recession" or "Depression within a Depression"?

That was in '37 when FDR insisted on cutting government spending. What happened? Unemployment surged. The depression was ON, AGAIN.

You simply can't spend your way out of a bad economy. And 1937 is probably the evidence of this fact one could dream of.
