Things are worse now than they were back then. Stocks did not
break 1974 lows in the early 80-s, but they did drop a bundle
in real terms due to inflation. I feel strongly that if we
compare the current situation to that period, we are now
somewhere in 1975, rather than 1982. But, as you said, the
current macroeconomic backdrop is much different. I also think
this bear probably should not be as lengthy as 1966-82 bear.
So, we'll get another dip on resurging inflation a couple
of years down the road and be over with it. -g-
