It is a widely recognized fact that government agencies do not run efficiently. That being the case, we should also consider the wisdom of expanding the role of government to include things already addressed in the free market system where bottom line pressure drives efficiency and produces capital, which in turn can be used to fund essential government operations.

As you pointed out, our government has already expanded to a far reaching level, way beyond essential, impacting private and personal affairs of citizens. Adding a couple more agencies now and a few more in due time exacerbates the difficulty of being able to support such a system to some point of inevitable collapse.
