You just did. But, I can understand why you might want to run away from it. It was a particularly stupid argument.

Yawn.

Only one country didn't rely on the war to improve their economy. And that was the only country unaffected by the Great Depression. If your thesis wasn't so FOS, there would have been at least one country who came out of the Great Depression without deficit spending and/or FDR-like policies. And there wasn't a one. Assuming your thesis is correct, Britain, Canada and Australia would have done better than the US. But, despite the US taking a greater hit because it was more export oriented, those countries actually did worse, showing no improvement until they went on a war footing and started spending.

Sigh. Being both clueless and FOS is a bad combination. But, you seem to love it...
