Yep, if Novell didn't like Word Perfect enough to keep it for themselves they should have been dumping the stock in 1994.

If Novell really can turn around, the best investment they could possibly make is in their own company. They should be buying back stock with both hands at current levels. By using half of the cash they could reduce the number of outstanding shares not held by institutions or insiders by more than a third.

Supply and demand. The less stock available for sale, the higher the price.

Novell says they can't afford a decent ad campaign, I say they can't afford to be a leading technology company that no one has ever heard of. Someone needs to give John Slitz a mighty kick in the ass to see if he is still alive. If he don't move when they kicks 'im, stamp RIP on his forehead and get rid of 'im.
