Oh, I have that as well. I was following his instructions which were "To get there right click on your desktop and select Properties, Appearance"

If I right click on the desktop I don't get an Appearance tab after properties. I've fooled around inside of Control Panel - Display and can't get rid of the black sidebars with 1280x1024 resolution.
