I was vacationing in So. Louisiana last week and went into a shoe store to try and buy some alligator skin shoes. After haggling with the salesman and not getting him down to my price I said, "Hell with it, I'll go catch an alligator and make my own shoes", to which he replied, "OK, but watch for the two chaps from the Arizona Dept of Mines who just went into the swamp to do the same thing".

I went out to the swamp and soon caught sight of the two AZDOM fellows standing in knee deep water with clubs. Pretty soon an alligator swam up toward one of them and the other shouted, "Get him, Nyal". Nyal clubbed the alligator and dragged him ashore where several other alligators lay and turned him over. Then he shouted, "Damm, Mason, this one isn't wearing any shoes either".

And someone expects these two to be able to test for gold?????

With apologies to Mason and Nyal who do keep the museum nicely swept and sell good books to Chuckaupt.
