We (the taxpayers) are in neck-deep now. Whatever GM needs, GM will get. From now on (nobody is going to buy this turkey anytime soon).

They can give cars away. They can guarantee them to run forever. They can agree to take 'em back if you don't like it. It doesn't matter. There is a bottomless pit of money.
