YEs, well.. you know NOTHING is ever certain for everyone. It all depends on the person, It dosn't mean that general concepts aren't useful. In fact, one would argue that those you sight are actually quite high on the pyramid.

Of course it's different... I think it's more accurate and descriptive is all. It also tends to coincide with Oriential Medical theory as to emotional states and physiological pathologies. Further it seems fits rather well with Western ideas about psychological mind states and actions.

Here also one needs to transcend a predominant level of ones mindstate to move up to higher states. One cannot reason well when living predominantly in a state of fear, grief, apathy, etc.
