9/11/09 update
September may have a bad rep on Wall Street but this wasn't evidenced by the month's first week performance. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 32.41% CYTD, or Contest Year To Date, (vs. up 28.45% CYTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 16.07% CYTD (vs. up 14.20% CYTD a week ago). Doing even better than the Indexes, the Contest median more than recovered its prior week loss, closing up 26.09% CYTD (vs. up 20.95% CYTD a week ago).
RKRW's portfolio gave ground for the week but still held first place by a wide margin. NIGEL's portfolio moved up to second place and GENE's portfolio slipped back to third place.
The week's closing CYTD percentages are: RKRW up 131.08%, NIGEL up 83.86%, GENE up 82.70%.
At Friday's close, 29 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black and 20 of the 32 were beating the NBI.
Have a wonderful weekend folks!
