So, in your opinion, are the Russian missiles better or worse than they were 10 years ago ?

Fighters do not dogfight anymore. They shoot missiles at each other. The side with the best missiles wins.
The airframe is secondary, but the avionics for the missiles is bundled with the later airframes and sold as a package.
