I know what i read here and elsewhere daily.. the strong feelings against socialism from a lot of Americans.

That's not in dispute. What is in dispute is the false dichotomy you set up. You are claiming that buying health insurance is not a market action, that the only choice is accepting the payments from a socialized system or paying your own medical bills. That's not logical. Insurance is a market option. I understand your hostility towards hypocrites but that's no excuse for intellectual dishonesty when framing a dichotomy.

You really expect folks, having been forced to pay into something all their lives, to turn down the eventual benefits from that on principle? They are twice victimized. Not only are they stuck paying into a system they disapprove, in your world they have to voluntarily commit suicide when they quit working. Sheesh.
