Basically, though, I think Obama transcend race and small thoughts.

I agreed with you that he is smart. But we all are to a large extend a product of our experiences and associations. I had a career as a systems analyst and manager. That culture permeates my thinking and values. Obama was, among other things, a community organizer. That culture will always be a factor in his thinking and values. Sure, we can sometimes put on different hats or walk a mile in the other guy's moccasins. We can also sometimes overcome our habits and be objective. But the threads of the culture are still there. Neither of us thinks like a farmer or a race car driver. Never have, never will.
