"I will add one comment, though, that I think is relevant. I chose my health insurance to the extent that I stuck with an employer that paid me considerably less than I could have earned elsewhere, not to mention forgoing the use of a company car :/, because I preferred the long-term benefits."

One of the arguments being made about the current system is that it holds many workers captive because they are afraid to switch jobs/careers because of coverage...
