hi bob. like you i also worked in the factories as a youngster with turret lathes and the warner and swasey, #3 i think, i can't remember anymore which model, as well as working with grinders and typesetting among other things. i still have pictures of me in the shop when i was still good looking.

as a kid in chicago, you couldn't walk down the street without seeing factories everywhere. i was so sad to see Stewart Warner fold. ,.., as well as all the great chicago manufacturing jobs leave for other parts of the world. i still have friends in chgo in the manufacturing business, luckily they have major contracts with j deere and are beginning to thrive once again.
