>>You've already played that tune before and no one danced.<<
people are dancing all over the place, you just aren't paying attention.
1. top two women swimmers in history (jenny thompson and dara torres). 2. best fencer on the planet (valentina vezzali - only human to win 3 straight fencing olympic golds, her latest as a 38 year old). 3. the world record holder for medically supervised weight loss - well over 500 lbs (manuel uribe). 4. the lone survivor of the sago mining disaster (randall mccloy). 5. troy polamalu (best safety in the nfl?). 6. everyone trained by world class trainer marv marinovich. 7. elite crossfitters the world over. 8. the italian silver medal winning olympic basketball team. 9. garmin-chipotle H2O cycling team (finished 2nd in the tour de france). 10. ultra endurance athlete (dean karnazes) 11. several world class triathletes (becky lavelle, julie swail ertel, lisa bentley, etc...).
you know, best in the world kind of athletes. you know, world record weight loss. you know, miraculous recovery from a death trap that should've led to serious permanent injury, but didn't.
how do you like these zone abs?

>>Arachidonic acid is an essential fatty acid which come from dietary sources such as eggs, meat and dairy products.<<
water is essential, too, but that doesn't mean too much can't kill you. your logic is extremely shallow, Elroy, and it is easily shown to be false. i never said all arachidonic acid is bad. the SAD provides WAAAAAAY too much arachidonic acid just by eating animal fat and it is basically impossible to avoid veggie oil.
america has an inflammation problem - that's why we are so darn sick and the mediterraneans are so darn healthy. you don't fuel more inflammation b/c you have too much inflammation - that's down right dumb. you reduce inflammation by reducing the the substrate for pro-inflammatory eicosanoids - egg yolks being a good way to do it.
one study showed cardiovascular disease risk was cut 9% solely by moving from veggie oil to olive oil. that's it. all else equal. guess what veggie oil (omega 6) tends to turn into?
arachodonic acid.
>>Humans have a very limited ability to synthesize Arachidonic acid from Linolenic acid.
You can't live without Arachidonic acid, so just get over your phobia which someone has created for you.<<
you are confused. my diet is about balance. i eat omega 6s. i also eat omega 3s. i don't eat too many omega 6s, though, and egg yolks are an excellent way to do just that.
my goal is to have the same AA (arachidonic acid)/EPA (from fish oil) ratio of the longest lived people and the people with highest longevity in the world - that would be the japanese and that ratio would be ~1.5.
this is in contrast to the typical inflamed, sick and disabled american person that has an average ratio about 10x as high, if not higher.
it is also why i'm leaner in my mid 40s than i was in high school running cross country (5'10", 155.5 lbs last year, 170 lbs this year with about 13 lbs of additional lean muscle). healthier with more energy, too. it is also why my doctor told me not to waste her time getting a physical last year - and i'm even healthier this year.
it is basic science. will a few egg yolks kill you? nope. but a steady state of silent inflammation is bringing our nation's health and finances to its knees.
proactive people can at least minimize the health problems.
btw, at least one person has "bitten" and reported effortlessly losing about 8 lbs in the first few weeks - without any hunger. i quote...
"What I really like about the zone is that I am not hungry, ever. In fact I find myself not really wanting to eat some meals, although I do."
don't deceive yourself into thinking that if you don't know something, it didn't happen or doesn't exist. |
