If you really don't think the national rejection of Bush allowed a neophyte like Obama to get elected, you are clueless. If the famous Clinton/Gore recession was the democrat's fault, and helped Bush get elected, no doubt the Bush/Cheney recession, with crippled markets, big deficits, and the events of September 2008 with Paulson begging Pelosi to help him out, made the republicans look unable to govern to the critical 4% that turned the election. Without Bush, there would have been no chance for an Obama. Hillary, yeah, maybe...but I think McCain beats her. But no way Mr. Change gets the election won without the road paved by Bush/Cheney. Change...even McCain was running on it.
