30" is just too small for a primary display in a typical living room, fpr me anyway. But frankly I now think all the assumptions about "normal" viewing distance are out of date, as pixel density has exploded from the projector/CRT years.

That didn't sink in until a few of us sat down with a PS3 hooked into a prototype quadHD 100"(ish) LCD (don't ask) - ZOMG - quelle experience!
