It's not surprising that atheists consider God meeting out justice to be murder, but there is a clear distinction between God taking a life in just retribution and men who murder; which is the unjustified taking of a life. There are clear differences between what men do for evil purposes and what God does. Taking a life that He has given and sustains in the first place for just reason. That's why we tell people not to usurp the roll of God or "play God". "Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord." Romans 12:19
