Mike,

Oh man, don't say that, please. I don't consider HXL a one or zero proposition by any means. They already have the aircraft business - now if the aircraft manufacturers would just start churning out the airplanes you would see a big spike in sales. And this doesn't include autos. I would be more worried about this taking off in aircraft except that it really does give value since it cuts operating costs(fuel) significantly.

And don't forget wind turbine blades. The newer big ones have to use the composites. That business took a real dive this year due to financing difficulties but is expected to come back next year.

Just as the computer cut its teeth in high end gov't applications, so have composites. From there computers found themselves in commercial applications for big companies just as carbon composites are finding themselves being used in Airbus and Boeing's commercial divisions. Next to the plate should be the auto companies. Actually, if you can hold your nose and pay up you can get a Lamborghini Reventón for a cool million. <ng> Anyway, it's nice to see a people's car(VW) getting into carbon fiber composites. It's like seeing Compaq Computer making PC for the masses versus Sun Microsystems making the 'workstation' for a few rich guys.
